Ontario is pleased to announce May 6 to May 12, 2007 as Probation Officers' Week in Ontario.  This year POAO is celebrating the theme of "Probation Officers of Ontario, Partners in Crime Prevention" as recognition of the many justice-based and community partnerships that Probation Officers foster to better supervise clients and help promote safer communities.</div> <bR> <div> POAO would like to acknowledge the professionalism and dedication of Probation Officers across the Province.  Probation Officers supervise the majority of the Province's offenders and this would not be possible without the numerous partnerships that share information, combine resources and provide assistance in ensuring crime prevention and client management.</div> <bR> <div> POAO members from all Branches in Ontario will be taking part in numerous fund raising and community centered activities during Probation Officer Week to help support many of the partnerships that our clients rely on.  We also hope to increase the awareness of the important work that Probation Officers do each day to keep our citizens of Ontario safe. </div> <bR> <div> Probation Officers are dedicated, hard-working individuals who are truly concerned about making a difference in the community where they live.  The work that they do is one of the most important jobs in community safety.  The practices of Probation and Parole play a vital role in our justice system.  These professionals are a critical part of the public safety system.</div> <bR> <div> Members of our community are encouraged to join together during Probation Officers' Week to honour those who work to make our communities a safer place to live.</div> <bR> <div> PO Week participants are encouraged to submit pictures to the webmaster at:
