Member Recruitment Drive
|
In an effort to generate new members in the Association, at the 2003 POAO Annual General Meeting in Niagara Falls, a motion was carried by the membership stating that POAO members who "recruit" brand new members to the Asociation will receive a $25.00 rebate (or credit) for each new member they recruit (to a maximum of four (4) or $100 per year. The rebate (or credit) would be applied to the recruiter's membership fees in the following year.
|
For example, an existing member who recruits four new members to join the Association for the 2008 membership year, would receive a $100 credit toward their 2009 membership.
Please keep in mind that if you are referring a new member to join POAO. The recruiter's name must appear on the new member's application. A membership application form is available below.
|

There are two types of memberships available: "Full" and "Associate." Memberships for the current year must be purchased, and paid in full, by June 30. Please get your membership application in as soon as possible.
To achieve full membership in the Association, the following must apply to you:
1. Currently employed by the Ontario Government as a "Probation Officer" or "Probation and Parole Officer" or employed by the federal government (Correctional Service of Canada) as a "Parole Officer" working within the Province of Ontario.
2. Currently a manager of a PO or PPO or federal PO.
3. Have been, at any time in the past, one of the above (retirees, for example).
Anyone (other than current probation and/or parole officers) can obtain an associate membership in the Association. You must be a full member, however, to vote at the Annual General Meeting and Branch Meetings of the Association.
